Miner MK1

The miner MK1 is placed on top of resource nodes to extract the ore from them. For the MK1 miner, a impure node will produce 30 ore pm, a normal node will produce 60 ore pm, and a pure node will produce 120 ore pm.

Constructor

These will become your best friend. They are used in almost every single factory and take in one input of item and porduces one output of an item.

Pipeline Mk1

The pipeline MK1 is the first of two varients of the pipeline. A single pipe can transport up to 300 fluid pm.

Pipeline Junction

The pipeline junction is like the splitter and merger in one. It automaticly either splits or merges liquids based of the direction your pumps and flow is going. Can make up to four connections. Keep in mind that you can't combine two different liquids onto a single pipe.

Pump MK1

The pump mk1 is placed on pipelines and pumps liquid 20 meters in a single direction. They are used to move liquids uphill or in a certain direction. Liquid will not go up if there is no pump to push up the liquid, so make sure you place them here and there to make sure your liquid doesn't get stuck in your pipes.

Small Fluid Buffer

The small fluid buffer hold liquid inside of it. It has an input and output where you can attact your pipelines. The small fluid buffer can hold 400 of any liquid.

Mid-Game Items

Return

When I use "pm" it means "per-minute"

The mid-game items are a bit more complex. The nice thing is there arn't as many machines to learn about, but the downside is you now have to deal with a lot more liquids like oil.

Ore/Natural Resources

These are resources you should find or keep an eye out for.

All four images from Wikipedia Fandom

Oil

The biggest step into the mid-game is using oil. This is required to make plastic and rubber which is vital for the rest of the game. From a oil extractor at 100% efficency, a impure node will provide 60 oil pm. a normal node will provide 120 oil pm, and a pure node will provide 240 oil pm.

Caterium

Caterium is used inside the MAM for reserach. It is very important because you will need some of the unlocks for future uses. From a MK1 miner at 100% efficency, a impure node will provide 30 pm, a normal node will provide 60 pm, and a pure node will provide 120 pm.

Quartz

Quartz is used inside the MAM for reserach. This is vital for the phase of bauxite and the end-game, It is also used in things here and there. From a MK1 miner at 100% efficency, a impure node will provide 30 pm, a normal node will provide 60 pm, and a pure node will provide 120 pm.

Bauxite

Bauxite is used in the construction of many late mid-game things to early end-game items. It is needed to construct the MK5 conveyor belts. From a MK1 miner at 100% efficency, a impure node will provide 30 pm, a normal node will provide 60 pm, and a pure node will provide 120 pm.

Ingots

These are the processed varients of the ores.

All four Images from Wikipedia Fandom

Caterium Ingot

This is the ingot version of cateruim and is much harder to mass produce than all the other basic ingots. In a smelter at 100% efficency, it will make 15 ingots from 45 caterium ore pm.

Alumina Solution

This is the first step of many to fully process bauxite into it's ore form. In a refinery at 100% efficency, it will make 120 alumina solution and 50 silica from 120 bauxite and 180 water pm.

Aluminum Scrap

Aluminum scrap is the second step of the tree in order to make the alumium ingot. In a refinery at 100% efficency, it will make 360 aluminum scrap and 120 water from 240 alumina solution and 120 coal pm.

Aluminum Ingot

The aluminum ingot is the final result of all the pain from the previous two steps. I dread doing aluminum just because its so many numbers but anyway. It a foundry at 100% efficency, it will make 60 aluminum ingots from 90 aluminum scrap and 75 silica pm.

Resources

These are the final resources from the ingots and ores. These will be very important later on.

Heavy Oil Residue

Heavy oil residue is mainly the byproduct of making plastic and rubber. There is no basic recipe for this, but there is an alternate recipe.

Fuel

Fuel is used to power fuel generators or packaged and put into your jetpack. In a refinery at 100% efficency, it will make 60 fuel pm from 30 oil pm.

Machines

There is a few new machines to learn about in the mid-game.

All seventeen images from Wikipedia Fandom

Refinery

From now on with alternate recipes and everything, you will use this machine more than any othe one. So make sure you understand it. It takes in two inputs, one solid matter and the other liquid. It also outputs the same, one solid matter belt and a pipe.

Manufacturer

The manufactuer is used to make complex resources. Get used to this one aswell because all the future advanced resources are made in here. It takes in 3 or 4 inputs to make 1 output.

Miner MK2

The miner MK2 is also amazing. It doubles the amount of ore pm you would get from a MK1 miner. For all the nodes at 100% efficency, an impure will provide 60 ore pm, a normal node will provide 120 ore pm, and a pure node will provide 240 ore pm.

Fuel Generator

The fuel generator takes in 12.5 fuel pm to make 150 MW of power for your power grid. I reccomend using alternate recipes to turn oil into heavy oil residue and then make fuel out of that to power your grid.

Packager

The packager is used to package liquids into containers for easy transport or as fuel for your jetpack or vehicles. It takes containers made from plastic and the liquid you want to package and combines them. You can package any liquid you want in the entire game.

Belt MK4

The belt MK4 is made from encased industrial beams and can transport up to 480 items pm. You shouldn't really be using these for long, I would reccomend only using them to create your bauxite factory so you can get the MK5 belts faster.

Belt Mk5

The belt MK5 is the best and last versions of the conveyor belts. They are made from aluminum sheets and can transport up to 780 items pm.

Oil Extractor

The oil extractor is placed ontop of oil nodes. They will collect oil just like a miner, but the numbers are different. For an impure node it will produce 60 oil pm, a normal node will produce 120pm, and a pure node will produce 240 pm.

Smart Splitter

The smart splitter is a interesting version of the splitter. You can decide where to split items and set a priority line and if that line backs up, you can make the rest of the items go a different way. Although, as soon as that priority line starts moving again, that overflow line won't get any material.

MAM

The MAM is short for molecular analysis machine, meaning it will analyze the data of whatever you put into it. The MAM is used to reaserach unknown minerals such as caterium or quartz, alien organizms, alien plants, and power slugs. I reccomend you start using the MAM as early as possible so you have all the branchs unlocked for when you need them later down the line.

Trains

Trains are very useful and I greatly reccomend you understand them. The trains themselves are easy to understand, they can be autopioleted to drive to other trainstations or manualy driven. If two seperate trains or a train derails you will be notified. A trains top speed is 120 KM per hour. The fuel is your power and the mimimum power it uses is 25 MW. It takes more power when it has to speed back up, rather that be braking before a turn then gasing out of it or heading uphill. You can have two trains attaced to eachother, and multiple trains on a single track.

Freight Car

The freight car is attaced behind a train or another freight car. They can hold items that can be loaded and unloaded at freight platforms. I reccomend you have a ratio of 4 freight cars for every train in order to keep that max speed of 120 KM per hour.

Train Station

The train station is where your trains will stop and go. They can be named and once placed, can be found in the train's time table to make that train go to it.

Freight Platform

The freight platform is where you will either load or unload your items from your freight cars. Thay are attached to the back of trainstations and 1 freight platform will load/unload 1 freight car.

Block Signal

This is where things start to get complex with trains. Only use block and path signals if you plan to have multiple trains on a single track. The block signal is placed on an end segment of a railway. What it does is seperate the track into different "blocks" What they do is say there is a train in the block ahead. If a train aproaches the block before the train before the train ahead exits the block, it will stop until that train leaves the block. This prevents train collisions. I reccomend placing one blocksignal for 2 full railway tracks.

Path Signals

Path signals are more complex. They are placed on the enterances to junctions. Junctions are like stoplights but for trains. What it does is when the train aproaches, it will check if the path it is going is clear. If it is, the train will go right on through. If the train can't go through, it will wait at the begining of the junction. The cool think about this is it will let two trains go into the junction at once if their paths don't intersect. An example would be two trains going straight but on oposite sides. If you just used block signals one train would stop because there is a train in that block, but path signals allow trains to move if thier path is clear.

Railway

The railway is a little more complex than thought but overall is simple. You place them down, and the train goes over them. It gets complex when you deal with merging and seperating railways. At the end of a railway or where two railway pieces connect, you can attach another railway to go into a diferent direction. The train themselves will deal with witch way they need to go. Doing this trick allows for the creation of junctions like in the photos above.
